About Us

The Heart and Hands Ministries of Salado had its beginnings in the early 1990’s as a food pantry in a small closet at the First Baptist Church. As the community grew so did the needs, making it necessary to relocate the pantry to a larger more centralized facility. In the fall of 2017 we were blessed to open the pantry at 213 Mill Creek Dr in the Brookshire Plaza.

Our goal is to help alleviate hunger by providing nutritious food, personal care items, and social service information to those who need them. Our hope is to sustain, strengthen, and educate individuals/families that live in our community and surrounding areas. We also strive to give people opportunities for personal and spiritual growth by sharing the love of Jesus through our service.

We want each person who comes to feel welcomed, invited in, and seen as a valuable person. We hope to encourage people through conversations while they wait and while they select their groceries. Many people who come through are discouraged and depressed as their life circumstances are difficult, but we hope to share a smile of hope with them as well as meeting a basic need.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat...I needed clothes and you clothed me.
